The Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG) is the governmental body in the Sultanate of Oman responsible for developing and implementing the government policy for exploiting the oil and gas resources in Oman. Originally established as the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and renamed in 1997 as the Ministry of Oil and Gas, MOG plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal exploitation of the country’s natural resources.

Some of MOG’s major competencies include:

  • Drawing and implementing studies, plans, and policies for optimum exploitation of oil and gas wealth.
  • Managing and supervising surveys and economic studies related to resource exploitation.
  • Supervising activities relating to exploration, excavation, and production by concession holding companies.
  • Studying international oil and gas markets to develop effective marketing policies.

There was no single recruitment portal in Oman specifically for the Oil & Gas sector, and MOG lacked a clear picture of the sector’s needs in terms of qualified personnel. Additionally, there was no centralized platform to monitor and manage job openings as each operator posted vacancies on separate channels. To address these challenges, KalSoft proposed a joint recruitment portal to consolidate all Omani oil and gas operators and applicants onto one platform.


KalSoft successfully delivered the Ministry of Oil and Gas Oman’s Joint Recruitment Portal ‘PetroJobs’, enabling the consolidation of all oil and gas operators and applicants on one platform. The solution provided MOG with a robust database detailing the sector’s qualified personnel, and facilitated partnerships with universities and training institutions both locally and internationally. Implemented using SharePoint 2013 as a web content management system and complemented with Android and iOS mobile apps, the portal offers a seamless and integrated recruitment experience.
